Today we head to France! After leaving the vineyards of Peralada, we’ll make our way toward the border, crossing what is considered to be the oldest border in the Pyrenees, Panissars. Legend tells us this is where Hannibal crossed with his elephants on his march to Rome.
Once in French territory, we’ll head for the Tech river. We’ll follow its course until the end of our second stage, on the slopes of the Coll d’Ares. We’ll take a well-deserved rest at the prestigious Domaine de Falgos, a hotel in the Eastern Pyrenees with an unbeatable setting and golf course.

From the pyrenees to the volcanoes
This is the most demanding stage, but also the most beautiful. We’ll climb the Col d’Ares via Serralongue, a long forest track – which used to be used for smuggling – that will really test your fitness.
Once we summit the Col d’Ares (1500+ meters), we’ll have a long descent to Camprodón on asphalt. From there, we’ll take the bike path that follows the old train track to Sant Joan de les Abadesses, where we’ll start the climb to the Coll de Santigosa. Enjoy a long descent to the volcanic area of Olot, where we’ll overnight in a magical spot, nestled between the volcanoes.
